London Boost of the Health Survey for England, 2006

The LHO has purchased, on behalf of a consortium of London’s PCTs, SHAs and pan-London bodies a larger sample (a boost) of the Health Survey for England (HSfE) for London.

It has been recognised that despite local agencies being tasked to tackle smoking, obesity, and physical activity, there is limited information available about health behaviours for small geographic areas or population groups. The HSfE is a series of annual national surveys about the health and related behaviours of people in England. However currently its sample size is not large enough to provide PCT / local authority level data.

The boost will provide an increased sample of London residents for the 2006 HSfE on specific aspects of health related behaviours. Collection of the data began in February 2006 and will take 12 months to complete. Data from the survey is expected in Summer - Autumn of 2007.

Progress reports and other information about the survey will be posted here.
