New developments to the LHO Website
The LHO and associated PHOS have strived to improve the usability and functionality of the websites.
Over several months there has been considerable development and we are pleased to
announce the release of the new website. This improves the administration of the
site but we hope it also makes the site easier to use and more enjoyable for you.
Submission of resources - Since the PHO websites went online in 2005,
many thousands of resources have been submitted to the five sites. However, the process of
adding a new resource was time-consuming.
- The wizards used to submit resources have been simplified, removing fields that were not being used.
- Improved links to resources on other websites.
Searching - the search facility has also been quite difficult to use,
especially when searching across all five websites.
Searching has been improved to include the following:
- Simplified options to search across other public health observatory websites as well as the LHO site.
- The introduction of RSS feeds to allow you to save the search and the results.
- Ability to search using an author’s first and last names.
- Improvements to the keywords and National Public Health Language administration to improve your search results.
