Public Health Performance Management Reports have been produced for each London PCT, by LHO in conjunction with NHS London. These contain indicators related to eight areas: cancer, cardiovascular disease, infant mortality, sexual health, health protection, life expectancy, all cause mortality and diversity.

This tool is designed to support Primary Care Trusts with their Local Delivery Planning and commissioning. It builds on the previous Health Inequalities Intervention tool which provided information for Spearhead areas only, and now includes all local authorities, spearhead and non-spearhead, and provides information on within as well as between area inequalities.

This tool has been developed in conjunction with the Information Centre to improve access to the indicators by making data easier to locate and extract. Comparisons can also be made more readily with local areas or with England as a whole.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the London Health Observatory’s (LHO) expanding team as a Data and Information Assistant, providing support to the information analysts and web and data team with their range of complementary experience and skills. The postholder will have a main focus in assisting with the collecton, validation and maintenance of PCT data for a range of LHO projects as well as being given the opportunity to develop their web and/or data related skills and abilities.
